Component 1 – teacher sample
Cohort 1:
In spring 2023, an online questionnaire was administered to elementary school classroom teachers. Participants were recruited through our partners (e.g., AQEP, CTREQ), social media, and organizations that disseminated our recruitment notice. Following this outreach, 96 teachers completed the questionnaire (90% women, Mage = 42 years, 18 years of teaching experience on average).
Cohort 2:
Due to the small sample size, a new recruitment effort was conducted in spring 2025 using the same questionnaire and recruitment methods, with the addition of outreach to teachers’ unions. Following this new recruitment effort, 502 teachers completed the questionnaire (96% women, Mage = 42 years; 17 years of teaching experience on average).
Total sample:
The two cohorts were combined for several reasons. First, they completed the same questionnaire. Second, data collection took place at approximately the same time of the school year, namely in the spring. Finally, descriptive analyses showed few differences in the variables of interest. Thus, the total sample consisted of 590 teachers (95% women, Mage = 42 years; 17 years of teaching experience on average).
